Our next 4-H event series is Cooking with Jackson County 4-H!

Join us as we learn how to cook! Cooking with Jackson County 4-H will be an in-person cooking night once a month from August to December. Sign up for one or all!

Fun for 5-18, all skill levels, something will be covered for everyone! Completely free of charge!

Every month, this series will cover:

  • Cooking with seasonal vegetables
  • Healthy meals
  • Budgeting
  • How to read a recipe
  • How to adjust a recipe
  • All kitchen skills
  • Every month, participants will go home with:
  • 2-3 recipes starring the “featured” food of the month
  • A skill sheet and activity pages
  • Increased confidence and skill in the kitchen
  • Knowledge of food and how they like to prepare it!

Think you’re already a kitchen wizz? Come on in to help others, expand your skills, and practice mentoring in the kitchen!


Tie-Dye Night!

Flier for Tye-Dye NightCome on over to the Extension Office as we tie dye! Shirts and bandanas can be provided, or you can bring your own white fabric for colrorful dyeing, or dark fabric for bleaching! All dye, gloves, bags, and rubber bands will be provided.

Completely free of charge!

5:30-7:00 p.m. on September 15th at the N.C. Cooperative Extension, Jackson County Center Office 876 Skyland Dr, Sylva.
