Virtual Small Farm Boot Camp Series

N.C. Cooperative Extension of Wake County is hosting four (4) free classes for small and/or prospective food farmers, who are looking to start or expand their Fruit Production enterprise, such as niche small fruits (like strawberries) or tree fruits (such as persimmons).

This series is also appropriate for those using fruits as part of an agritourism enterprise, such as Pick-Your-Own.

3/26 – Farm Business Planning

4/2 – Small Fruit Production

Learn how to manage production of tree fruits, such as persimmons, and select the right tree fruits for your enterprise. Instructors: Deanna Bigio, Jonathan F Smith

4/16 – Getting Market-Ready

Learn what is required for selling into different market channels, and make sure that your product is safe and looks its best for sale. Instructors: Trevor Hyde, Jonathan F Smith, Deanna Bigio
