Cherokee Rider’s 4-H Horse Club has been providing concessions to the events that happen at the Cherokee County Fairgrounds, Nora Starks Arena. The funds are used by the club to help pay for the youth to attend an annual horsemanship clinic without paying a lot out of pocket for the clinic by using money raised at the concession stand. This clinic is one of several events youth can attend to help them learn more about their horse and about riding their horse.

Recently, our hot water heater failed, which caused it to leak and flood the concession stand. We need to get it cleaned up before our first event at the end of March. Our goal is to remove damaged material and clean what is salvageable. We are also looking for a few things to replace damaged items. One of those is the hot water heater that is no longer working. We would love a tankless electric hot water heater so this would not happen again but if someone has a good, standard hot water heater to donate we would take it happily. Or if you would like to donate money to buy a new hot water heater that would also be greatly appreciated. We are also looking for a kitchen sink cabinet with the sink and cabinet. We would like to ask also for some help removing damaged materials and then replacing them with new. We need help cleaning the cabinets that did not receive as much damage as well as painting anything that needs painting.

If you would like to help either with donations of materials, time, or even money we would appreciate it. Contact Shannon Coleman, shannon_coleman@ncsu.edu or 828-837-2210 ext. 4, to help with the cleanup and repairs. Thank you in advance for your consideration.
